About Kefalonian Roots
 Please, allow me to
introduce myself. My name is Elaine C. Boldrick Sinodinoy-Vallianoy. I
grew up in Pitman, New Jersey, USA.
In 1975 I developed an interest in genealogy and over the next 25 years I traced
my father’s family to Ireland, Scotland, England and the “French” Palatinate;
and my mother’s family to the “Swiss, French and German”
Palatinate.
In the spring of 1978, in Lixouri, Kefalonia, Greece, I married Dionysios Sinodinos-Vallianos of
Soullaroi, Palliki, Kefalonia; and have
resided in Lixouri for the past 30 years.
During this time I researched my husband’s paternal family to Sinada,
Turkey, Asia
Minor and his maternal family through the villages of Palliki, Kefalonia. Since
1998, I have assisted family historians in Greece, Canada, the United States,
Ireland, England and Russia. Although English is my mother tongue, I research
and work in the Greek
language.
By chance, in the fall of 2003, the idea to present a site to assist
descendents of Kefalonians developed in my mind. Slowly, with the technical
knowledge and assistance of Mr. John Majeroni, the method of placing the site on the
Net developed, and Kefalonian Roots evolved from a dream, into a
reality.
I wish you success in your research, and sincerely hope that this site will
